During our very first week, we wanted to try some American food.
Since donuts is originated from America, it seems a must to try as a milestone !
Besides, one of the professor Sherrie gave them to us as a welcome treat.
It makes the donuts taste even sweeter :)
"We are in America NOW !!"
2. Scavenger hunt !
We will be staying in UIUC for nearly two months. It's a great headstart for us to know the campus more by having a scavenger hunt
in a lovely morning.
Alma Mater is a big symbol of UIUC but was taken for refurbishment recently.
That's how we got the chance to take over her place !
Foellinger Auditorium
It offers all kinds of musical performences and art activities.
See ! We are dancing ballet elegantly!
The Armory
This building is for the military use and where heroes are nurtured.
It's an interesting question that why would a military facility is set up in the campus~
Lincoln Hall
Illini Union-the retreat for diligent or leisure students
Underground Library
Do you know why the library is underground ?
Because UIUC used to have great stress on agriculture (still is!)
they have fields in the campus to grow crops like corn or soy bean for experimental use
the picture below is called The Morrow Plots,
which is the oldest experimental field in U.S!
since it is rich in historical meaning,
the library which is much younger than it must find ways not to cover the sunlight
That's why the Undergraduate Library is underground!!
Another spot ! the Illinois Bookstore !
Sell products from T-shirts to text books
in great variety (most of the product are in the color of orange and blue!)
(We try to look as if studying hard in the outdoor area of the bookstore)
3.Time with dear teachers and faculties :)
After welcoming breakfast, with lovely faculties in School Of Social Work!
Lai Lai Wok,the final desitnation, last puzzle of the scanvenger hunt
gather again with teachers and try to recommend the authentic dishes from Taiwan!
We try dishes like light water vegetables, three cups chicken,
beef with scallion, crispy tofu, and so on!
It is so fun to see all these pictures!
